- Cullen Hightower, a quotation and quip writer whose quotations were published as Cullen Hightower’s Wit Kit. One of his more famous quotes is: “People seldom become famous for what they say until after they are famous for what they’ve done.” However, in Mr. Hightower ‘s case, he became famous for what he said rather than for what he did. (1923-2008)
