Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us. We become what we repeatedly do.
- Sean Covey, author, motivational speaker and son of Stephen Covey. (1964- )
Creating or changing a habit is simple and not that hard to do. It requires that you create a "habit loop" and persevere until the habit is established. Here is an example of creating a morning exercise habit: 1.) Create a "cue" - lay my exercise clothes out before I go to bed. 2.) Routine - wake up, change into my exercise clothes and exercise. 3.) Reward - enjoy the sense of accomplishment and benefit from the increased energy all day long. 4.) Craving - the desire to enjoy the reward every day kicks in and you do not have to waste valuable willpower deciding to do it - you Just Do It! That's proof of a habit being created. - M. J.
